3-Ingredient Halloween Spider Dates

I had so much fun making these Halloween spider dates! When I was scrolling through the internet for some inspiration there were a lot of scary recipes, from entire graveyards, to mummy cookies and soups with fingers. But so time consuming! These 3-ingredient Halloween spider dates are perfect if you are looking for an easy Halloween treat.

I have a former colleague who hated dates. Only the sight of a date would make her run away. She said they look like cockroaches! Yup, dates are delicious but they don’t really look appetizing. What’s more scary than a date turning into a huge spider with teeth? And moms, the bonus is of course that it’s so easy to make!

I hope you’ll have as much fun as I did making these spider dates. Make them with kids, because there is no stress, no baking, and no ”non-edible” ingredients…. I would love to see your creations on social media with #thegreencreator!

Description

A super easy to make Halloween recipe with only 3 ingredients. Scary Spider Dates!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 Medjool dates
  • 3 cashews nuts, cut in pieces
  • 1 goji berry
  • optional: chia seeds for a ”furry” like back

Instructions

  1. Cut the dates, remove the stone and fill them with cashew nut pieces.
  2. The extra date is to create the legs and to make the teeth and eyes stick. So cut this extra date in thin stripes. Roll them until you have a thin spider leg. Make eight spiderlegs for one date. Place them on the side of the date. With the left over of the extra date you can creat a ”glue” to make the eyes and the teeth stick. The eyes and teeth are also little pieces of cashew nuts and the nose is a gojiberrie cut in half. Be creative, and the scarier the better!
