If you think you might not be in need of a DIY lip scrub, you should read this article. Whether it’s chilly outside or you work in an air conditioned environment, our lips suffer for it. Chapped lips are not very attractive. Sometimes they might even get covered in a layer of crusty annoying dead skin that usually ends up getting bitten or tugged off. Not good. Or maybe you want to plump your lips naturally? Fuller reddish lips? Yes, please!
In other words, there will always be a moment you will be considering buying a lip scrub. However, these products are very often overpriced and contain a lot of unwanted (harsh) ingredients. Just make your own.
It really is the easiest thing in the world to make your own DIY Lip Scrub.
You will need
- A tablespoon of sugar
- Coconut oil
- A bit of lemon juice
- A small container
Mix a tablespoon of sugar with just enough coconut oil and lemon juice to get it to stick together. Once a week (twice at the very max) rub the scrub onto your lips, enough to loosen the dead skin, but be careful though not to irritate your lips. Then rinse or wipe off with a damp washcloth or water. Apply lip balm (coconut oil) after use.
Soft plump lips should be the result. Don’t overuse this though. It’s a great tool when suffering from chapped dry lips.
If you wish you can add honey to make the scrub more moist. Or cinnamon to plump your lips even more.
