Belly Burner

Every day is a new opportunity to make healthier choices. I always preach to start the day with a juice or smoothie to see yourself that your health will improve enormously.  Some would start rather skeptical with a new morning ritual, but all would feel better. Their skin cleared up, bowel movements were improved and some would even get rid of some excess weight. All this of course with the combination of a healthy lifestyle, because there is really no such thing as a miracle pill or a miracle juice which will make you lose weight instantly.

Especially in the beginning of a new year I get almost daily questions about weight loss. Probably one of the most frequently asked questions would be: ”Is there a smoothie or juice that will make me lose weight?” Yes and no. If you will not change your life, nothing will change. However, there are certain food types that  will support weight loss. My sweet fennel juice is an example.

”A green juice a day keeps the muffin top away!”

What are the ingredients for a big serving?

1 fennel bulb
2 stalks celery
2 apples
1 lime
1 handful parsley 

Juice all the ingredients and blend the juice with one teaspoon of flaxseeds.


Fluid and getting rid of toxins 

This jucie has a wonderful sweet anise flavor. It’s essential if you want to lose weight. The ingredients contain flavonoids, which will reduce the size of your belly by improving the metabolism. The combination of apples and vegetables is also great to get rid of excess fluid and toxins. Fennel is good for digestion, because it’s very rich in potassium and fiber. This will make sure your body will let go of excess fluids. Celery also has the same effect. It will also stimulate the gall bladder and increases the flow of bile in order for fat to be better digested. The juice contains many protective antioxidants (including flavonoids and rutin) that will support the liver.


Flax seeds also contain essential fatty acids which are important for the functioning of the cells and promote a healthy metabolism which will accelerate fatburn. Flaxseed will also balance the hormones in the body.

All this in a wonderful simple sweet fennel juice!
