Creamy Hemp Matcha Latte

Hemp and matcha, it doesn’t only sound good but it taste great as well. Creamy and a little lift me up in a cup in the morning. Yum! I created this recipe because I wanted to use more hemp seeds again. I  also started added a few other ingredients as well and this delicious creamy hemp matcha latte was the result.

Matcha or maca? They may sound the same, but they’re totally different.


Matcha is not to be confused with maca. Matcha is a green tea powder and it is rich in L-Theanine that helps to put the brain into alpha waves. Alpha what? It basically means you get the same waves in your brain that monks have when they meditate. However, these meditative brain waves will not make you sleepy. Matcha contains some caffeine, but won’t tax the nervous system like coffee. And matcha has some amazing health benefits. It is packed with antioxidants, it boosts your metabolism, calms the mind and relaxes, it is rich in fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins, aids in concentration, contains vitamin C, selenium, zinc, chromium, magnesium and much more.

If you use a safe amount your skin can clear up and you will feel energetic.  In fact maca powder can even balance your hormones…I have seen amazing hormonal miracles with women using maca powder.

Ok, time to whip up this amazing Creamy Hemp Matcha Latte! You can use a bamboo whisk like on the picture and a bamboo spoon, but this is absolutely not necessary. You can create a smooth and frothy drink with a regular whisk or just a blender.

This delicious creamy Hemp matcha Latte is super smooth and frothy and contains a whole lot of goodness. Healthy fats, vitamins, proteins, minerals, fibers…A perfect pick me up.


  • 1 cup unsweetened dairy free milk, I used unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 tsp matcha powder
  • 2 tsp raw organic coconut oil
  • 1 tsp maca powder
  • 23 tbsp hemp seeds
  • natural sweetener such as coconut sugar, date syrup or maple syrup
  • pinch Celtic sea salt


  1. Add everything to a pot (except the hemp seeds) and bring to a boil. Transfer to a high powered blender and add hemp seeds. Blend, pour in a cup and enjoy.

  1. Just found this recipe. I wondered if it would be just as good cold for summertime. I’ve been drinking green tea for several years. A friend of mine just told me about Starbucks Green Tea Frappuccinos. I am hooked but would love to be able to make it myself. This drink sounds like it might be a good substitute. Any suggestions?
