Peach Milkshake (vegan)

For this easy peach milkshake you will only need 5 ingredients (if you don’t count ice cubes as an ingredient) to create a thick, creamy texture. This shake is full with fresh juicy peaches! A perfectly refreshing, dairy-free vegan treat for breakfast, snack, or dessert.

During summer, I could eat peaches all day, ever day. Peaches should be enjoyed, super ripe, freshly washed, and while enjoying the sun, right? I actually think peaches are too delicious to just blend with other ingredients. Until I made this cold peach milkshake, or excuse me I meant to write ”milk” shake.

Remember those milkshakes as a kid? Ice cream and cold milkshakes were the best summer treat. Not particularly healthy, and thank goodness most days my dad would slice up an enormous cold watermelon as a summer treat (also very delicious!). But there is something about a cold, thick creamy fruit milkshake. Or in this case a shake since this recipe is vegan and dairy-free.

My favorite milkshakes have always been fruit milkshakes, such as banana and strawberry. And this recipe would be totally amazing with bananas and/or strawberries, but the fresh and sweet flavor of a ripe peach is simply irresistible.. This is such a typical recipe that makes me think why I would ever want any other sweet snack when I can have a fresh peach.

And let’s not forget to add a lot of ice cubes, because they will also make sure to create that frosty milkshake effect.

This summer you need to try this recipe because

  • you only need 5 ingredients and 5 minutes to make this peach ”milk” shake
  • this shake is naturally sweetened and kind of guilt-free for a ”milkshake”
  • it’s vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free
  • sweetened with date syrup so refined sugar-free
  • you can control how much added sugar you want going into this shake. So you can add only 1 tablespoon of date syrup, skip it altogether, or even add 4 tablespoons for an extra-sweet treat
  • it’s rich, thick, creamy
  • it tastes like a real milkshake…..hello

How to make a milkshake creamy and thick without bananas, nuts or seeds?

A lot of creamy vegan recipes call for nuts, such as cashews, but I wanted to keep this peach milkshake light, yet creamy. The solution? Silken tofu. The result? Without any nuts, seeds, nut butters, or frozen bananas this peach shake is super creamy and thick. The best summer treat!

Silken tofu is a great ingredient to use in sweet vegan recipes, such as this peach milkshake. It’s easy to find and creates a nice thick and creamy textures in a lot of recipes. The same goes for this milkshake recipe. The soy yogurt also does a great job in creating a creamy texture. You could go for coconut yogurt if you like, I bet that will create an even creamier texture. Oh, and let’s not forget about the ice cubes! Those are a must in this recipe for that irresistible cold ice texture.

If you are going to make this recipe, let me know! So are you going to serve this peach milkshake as a snack, dessert or even breakfast (because: SUMMER!)? I would love to read that in the comment section below, and be sure to take a picture and tag it #thegreencreator on Instagram! Have a great sunny end of the week, friends!

Description

For this easy peach milkshake you will only need 5 ingredients (if you don’t count ice cubes as an ingredient) to create a thick, creamy texture. This shake is full with fresh juicy peaches! A perfectly refreshing, dairy-free vegan treat for breakfast, snack, or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 fresh peaches (about 280 gr)
  • 200 gr silken tofu
  • 3 tbsp date syrup (add less or more to taste)
  • 125 gr soy yogurt
  • ¼ cup (50 ml) almond milk
  • 10 ice cubes
  • optional: 1 tbsp flax seeds or hemp seeds (for added nutrition and thickness)

Instructions

Add all ingredients except almond milk to a high speed blender. Add in almond milk little at a time, adding only enough to allow the ingredients to blend together. Add more for a thinner shake and less for a thicker shake.

Taste and adjust flavors, add more date syrup for sweetness and more ice for extra thickness.

Serves 1-2 big portions. This milkshake I best when served cold and fresh. Any leftovers can be kept covered in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

Notes

You can keep individual portions (ice cubes) in the freezer for 1 month. You could also freeze this shake into popsicles.

This shake is best consumed fresh within 24 hours.
