Sautéed Dates

The holiday season can be stressful weeks for some of us. I have a lot of celebrations in December, Anything you can think of takes place in December in my life. So when a super easy and tasty recipe pops up, I know I have to try it out. Who doesn’t like an interesting and quick (holiday) recipe, right? This recipe was done in 3 minutes (the photography took way much longer). The sautéed dates can be used for about anything. They can be served as an appetizer or as a dessert with a scoop of ice cream or berries. They can also be sliced and served as part of a salad. Or what about using them as a topping for your breakfast? Some granola, cold coconut yogurt with warm sautéed dates are a heavenly combination in my books.

A perfect 3-ingredient snack/appetizer that takes just 3 minutes to make.

Baking dates in not something very new. In Spain they wrap dates in bacon and put them in the oven to make it all melt and crispy. So why not just add some coconut oil and salt into a pan and let the dates do all the work? Dates have so much flavor, it is really not necessary to add much more to it.

The salt will reduce the sweetness a bit and the heat will make them a bit softer and less sticky. The center is melted and the skin is crispy and taste like caramel.
