INGREDIENTS

old-fashioned rolled oats plant-based milk brown sugar ground cinnamon pinch of salt

Toppings: maple syrup, apples, bananas, chopped nuts (almonds or walnuts), raisins, fresh berries, or shredded coconut.

Step 1.

In a saucepan, add the oats and milk. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low and stir occasionally.

Step 2.

Add the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Adjust the sweetness and cinnamon to your liking.

Step 3.

Continue to cook the oats, stirring occasionally. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the oats are tender and the mixture has thickened to your desired consistency.

Step 4.

Once the oats are ready, remove from the heat. Let them sit for a minute to cool slightly and thicken further.
