butter

fresh mint

fresh dill

yogurt

STEP 1.

Heat a small pan over medium heat and add the vegan butter. Let it melt.

STEP 2.

Add the dried dill, and finely chopped garlic to the pan. Heat until the garlic starts to change color.

STEP 3.

Set aside in a small bowl to cool.

STEP 4.

To a bowl, add the feta cheese and mash with a fork until the feta is crumbled. You can also use an immersion blender to break the feta cheese. Small feta chunks are ok.

STEP 5.

Add the butter dill garlic mixture, fresh mint, fresh dill, and salt to the mashed feta cheese.

STEP 6.

Add the yogurt as well and stir to combine.

STEP 7.

Stir with a fork. The sauce is ready when it is thick and not runny.

STEP 8.

Place in the refrigerator for about an hour to cool and set.

STEP 9.

Garnish with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and fresh mint leaves, and a few sprigs of dill.

TIP

Haydari is often served with olive oil and pita bread.
