Step 1.

Make the Vegan buttermilk. In a glass or small bowl, combine the almond milk, apple cider vinegar, and ground flax seeds. Set aside.

Step 2.

Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and mix to combine

Step 3.

Add the vegan buttermilk and stir again. Then add the apple sauce, maple syrup, and vanilla and mix until combined.

Step 4.

Finally, fold in the chocolate chips. Be gentle! And don’t overmix your batter.

Step 5.

Transfer the batter to a muffin baking pan. Bake for about 20 minutes.

Step 6.

Let the muffins cool completely before  serving.
