What’s better than a bowl of porridge, oats, or yogurt? The addition of a breakfast topping, right? This mixture of so called ”superfoods” is the perfect topping for whenever you feel like your bowl could use a punch of healthy fats without changing the taste and recipe too much. I even sprinkle this breakfast topping over icecream and loved it.
According to for example dr. Greger it’s important to grind the flaxseeds before consuming them for better absorption and optimal benefits. You could say dr. Greger is pretty excited about ground flaxseeds. You can buy pre-ground flaxseeds in the store but I find it a little effort to do it myself. And so this breakfast topping was created… I added more of my favorite toppings such as pumpkinseeds, chia seeds, and sunflowers seeds.
The best thing about this breakfast toppping is that I eat way more chia seeds and flaxseeds than ever before. I keep on adding teaspoons of this topping without changing the taste of my breakfast. This breakfast topping tastes sweet and nutty with a slight hint of flaxseeds. Oh… and as a habit I keep my nuts, seeds and also my ground flaxseeds in the fridge. Am I the only doing that?
If you have a food processor or a coffee grinder (a blender might work in small batches), I hope you will make this breakfast topping. I’m on to my 3rd Mason jar and I’m not planning to stop this new addiction any time soon.

Thank you Natalie!♥
Thank you for sharing this. I have been using a topping for my breakfast goodies for awhile now, and though it varies, the main ingredients are ground flax seed, chia seeds, white sesame seeds, hulled hemp seeds, buckwheat seeds, amaranth, and quinoa. I don’t grind anything but the flax, am not particular whether it is brown or golden, but make sure it’s all organic. I think the addition of sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds would be great, especially for a salad. Love your site and your recipes using both cups and the metric system. Thank you so much!
