When I started following a vegan diet I really thought I would never be able to enjoy great creamy ice creams anymore. Popsicles based on water was probably the only ice creams I could have … That was untill I discovered the magical combination of a powerful blender and frozen fruits that creates nicecream; a super simple 1-Ingredient recipe. Gosh this is so good and easy to make! Yes, it melts a bit faster than the creamy ice creams from the supermarket, but it’s way better for your body (just keep in mind the sugars in fruit). You can make this nicecream as sweet as you wish. I find ripe bananas already sweet enough, but you could add some dates if you like.
Tip: vary with fruit. I also love to make an ice cream with frozen cherries and cacao and mango with pieces of coconut.
Have you ever made banana ice cream? If so, let me know in the comments below or on Instagram or Facebook.
- 2 frozen bananas
- a little splash of plant-based milk or water if your blender is not powerful enough
- cacao nibs
- The night before, place the (peeled) bananas in your freezer. The next day you can take them out of the freezer about 5 minutes before you are about to make this ice cream. If the fruit is still too hard for your blender, add a little splash of water or plant-based milk. Blend, blend !! Finish your ice cream with a sprinkle of cinnamon and/ or cacao pieces.
